Please join us for March Queer Leather Dinner!
My intention is to provide a consistent event for Queer people to wear their Leather and gear proudly and to create a space that is conducive to Leather community conversations.
The suggested topic of conversation for this month’s dinner is race in the Leather community. I hope to create a space that feels safe for positive conversation. To help with this, I will be inviting some community members to facilitate shaping the conversation. I’m pleased to announce that Sophia St. James is the first to join. Please contact me if you are also interested.
Moving forward, I plan to repeat this strategy every month — to engage specific community members to lead the conversation who are invested in the topic. I think this will be a good way to focus us just a bit. There will also be space to chit chat openly.
Woody, the owner of Crush, is happy to have us. He was very enthusiastic and supportive of the idea. He said we should feel completely comfortable showing up in our Leather/gear.
Come for dinner if you’d like, but please also feel welcome to attend without food purchase to join the conversation.
This event is intended for everyone who self-identifies as Leather and any shade of Queer, or is interested and wishes to learn more.
Queer Leather visitors from out of town are encouraged to attend as well.
Please help spread the word. Let’s build the Queer Leather community in Portland!
