You know you have had a good week in the San Francisco Bay Area when the weather changes to a wee nip in the air the Leather Daddy’s and Leather Momma’s strut their stuff down Folsom Street. We know the High Holy Days of the Folsom Street Fair can’t be far away!
Gauge Strongarm, SF Leather Daddy XXVII and Mikey Shirts, SF Daddy’s Leather Boy XXVII threw a great contest. I want to welcome and congratulate, Daddy David and Daddy’s Boy Adam to their title year!
SF Leather XXVIII Daddy David S. Meyer is a nineteen-year resident of San Francisco. He has been continuously involved in the Leather Community here ever since. David has assisted the San Francisco Leather Daddies with their varied events during each of the past thirteen years. He is an Honorary member of the Golden Gate Guards, a Friend of the California Eagles Motorcycle Club and is a member of "Mama's Family" as "Mama's Cyber Boy".
SF Leather Daddy’s Boy XXVIII Adam Schwenk grew up in California and spent much of his adult life in Los Angeles. Adam has been actively involved with a number of leather organizations in Los Angeles, Chicago, and now San Francisco for over 13 years. Adam was first runner up for Mr. Regiment 2003.
The SF Bay Area Leather Alliance had its annual Alden Spafford Progressive Dinner. Alden was an amazing member of the community who is still greatly missed. The Leather Alliance’s purpose is to set the calendar, support member clubs, educate the community on leather and motorcycle issues and support a grant fund. The dinner is a 40 year tradition. Starting at Mr. S Leather, who
graciously hosted the appetizer phase of the walk, then off to delight in Albert’s amazing Gazpacho soup at The Powerhouse, to Lasagna at the SF Eagle and finally The LoneStar for Ms. SF Leather 2009 Tracy Wolf’s famous cakes. The Leather Alliance has a long tradition of providing help to those in need in the Leather community. The grants fund needs to be the purpose and to continue to be the focus of the Alliance.
There is nothing like walking into an event with amazing Leather men and women! The American Brotherhood Weekend’s Leatherboy 2010, Bryan Teague was in town with Joan Norry, ABW Leatherwoman 2008, and Randy Carmenaty, ABW Leatherman 2008 on ABW’s Tour of the Nation.
A Sunday without a beer bust would be sacrilegious in San Francisco, one of the many delightful reasons to hang in the Bay Area. Mama Sandy Reinhardt was in attendance and gave birth to Mollena Williams, IMsL 2010 as Mama’s Negress. Welcome to Mama’s family! Mr. SF Leather 2010, Lance Holman and Lenny Broberg, IML 1992, Rick Russel, Mr. Bolt 2009 and Mr. Alameda County Leather 2010, Pony were also in attendance on a beautiful sunny afternoon in San Francisco.
The High Holy Days of Folsom Street start this year with Mama Sandy's 19th Annual Leather Walk on September 19 and the raising of the Leather Flag over Castro Street by the SF Leather Daddies and Daddy’s Boys. I am looking forward to Donna Sachet’s Annual Leather Titleholder Brunch and seeing all the International, National and Local Titleholders on stage! Hope to see you at Folsom! If you are in town make sure you come flirt with me!
Serve well, play hard and play safe!
