Kink Crusaders Screening

The story of the world’s oldest Kink/Fetish competition - the INTERNATIONAL MR. LEATHER contest.

And after 30 years, it’s not just a ‘white gay male’ event anymore!  Today, men who are straight, disabled, elderly - or maybe transgender - join with their gay brethren to compete in this honor of masculinity.  It was all started by the man who opened Chicago’s first Leather bar in the 1950s. 

From street corner preachers to President Obama and Abu Griab in between, ‘Kink Crusaders’ explores a world as close to you as your neighbors next door.

Antebellum in Hollywood will presents a very special screening of KINK CRUSADERS on Saturday, December 4th at 7pm, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers & guests.

There is a $10 donation request and the event features a no-host bar.

Mr D.C. Eagle Leather 2011

The tradition continues...

A 39 year tradition at the DC Eagle continued last night. Derrick Thomas stepped down as Mr. DC Eagle and Michael Kramer stepped up to be the new Mr. DC Eagle 2011.

It was a packed house at the DC Eagle on Sunday, November 21 as 3 contestants competed for the coveted prize of being selected Mr. DC Eagle Leather, a title steeped with history, tradition and leather values. Each contest brought their own charm and charisma to present to the judges and audience.

Michael will compete at Mr. International Leather. An annual contest over the memorial day weekend, in Chicago, IL.

PS Leather Pride 2011

Sometimes the best things come in small(er) packages.  I love the big events like IML and MAL but they can be a bit overwhelming.  It's also hard to feel like you're part of a tight community when you're surrounded by thousands of hot guys in gear.  I do get a little tight somewhere else though! <eg>

That's why I always have such a great time at PS Leather Pride, produced annually by the Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert.  It's a chance to revel in community, and a great contest, and hot events, and yes, tons of hot folks in gear.  Whatever your persuasion.

We were in Palm Springs for Leather Pride this year blogging live for Leatherati and we're happy to report that the event is better than ever.

The weekend kicked off on Thursday for early arrivals with a Meet and Greet at Hunters on Arenas.  We weren't able to get out of town early enough to make the party but got back excellent reports that the croozing and schmoozing was in high gear.

Friday night the guys from PSLOD took the annual Formal Leather Dinner and kicked it up about 10 notches.  The event was held at Leon’s Bar and Grill, located in the landmark modernist Donald Wexler-designed North Clubhouse at the Indian Canyons Golf Resort.  A little off the beaten track for those not familiar with Palm Springs but well worth it once you got there.  We had the entire place booked out, 225 was the count I received from PSLOD Prez Bill Spinney.  I'll tell you this for sure, it was amazing to look across the vast dining room and see nothing but leather, uniforms, and gear.  Hot!  Oh, and the bartenders pour a mean Absolut martini.  Not that I was taking note or anything.

To say that Vancouver is buzzing - is a complete understatement!
