Urban Bear, May 12-15 in NYC
Plans are well underway for the 3rd annual Urban Bear Weekend NYC scheduled to take place May 12-15, 2011. With the overwhelming success of last year’s Urban Bear, plus the return of New York’s Outdoor Bear Fair in the heart of the Meat Packing District, you are encouraged to not only attend, but get involved as a volunteer with what has become the premiere Bear event of the East Coast. Last year’s Urban Bear brought upward of 1,000 men out to NYC and that number will be even larger for this event.
Be a part of the fun & excitement! Volunteer positions range from raffle, t-shirt & ticket sales, security, check-in, set-up, barbecue grill attendant, porters, and so much more. Of course, as a token of appreciation, all volunteers will receive a t-shirt, as well as free admission to a select event.

The "new" Pistons Bar in Long Beach is Pride Central for the first-ever Long Beach Leather Pride, produced by Mr Long Beach Leather 2010 Alex Kitay.
Friday night kicks off with the Meet & Greet, Saturday night is the Mr LB Leather contest and Sunday is the Leather swap meet. Details at pistonsbar.com

30 Day Extension on SF Eagle Closure
We were in SF for IMsL this past weekend and heard from a bartender at the SF Eagle that the bar had received a 30 day extension on the closing date until the end of May, 2011.
Not sure that this means anything but it is more time for locals to try and rescue the venerable bar.
