Leathermen's Discussion Group program on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, 7:30 - 9:30 pm at Blow Buddies Upstairs Community Room, 933 Harrison Street in San Francisco, CA.
If you have ever had a scene that lured you with the promise of edgy intensity, but wondered if you could handle the situation before, during or afterward, this discussion is for you. We will explore the reasons some people enjoy play that is very edgy psychologically, emotionally and physically, and how you can go about making that fantasy a reality. Inherent in this discussion is the level of responsibility of both/all partners, how to manage risk, and how you can support your partner in the aftermath.
Edgy play can be hot, and we will look at ways to avoid some common pitfalls, as well as how to recover with grace and honor when things go off of the planned path.
PLEASE BE ADVISED: Some highly controversial scenes (i.e. racial or incest play, weaponry, etc.) will be discussed. Please do not attend if these are outside of your comfort zone.
LDG programs start promptly at 7:30 p.m. Leather, gear or fetish wear always encouraged, never required. They advise arriving early as seating is limited.

When it comes to the local LGBT community, it's fair to say Matt Bamford is a bit of a celebrity. After all, he's Mr. Capital Pride Leather 2009 and the reigning Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather.
In April 2009 -- having just moved to D.C. from Alaska the year prior -- he was not so well known, and certainly not to Dr. Terry Gerace, who headed to Ziegfeld's/Secrets in search of some models for a new safer-sex education effort he was launching.
"That's the story of my life: right place, right time," Bamford says. "I was bartending at Secrets. He had come in to look for some good-looking men and was wearing this 'FUK!T' shirt. I thought, 'Wow.'"
It's the same word that's likely passed countless lips as they view the result: Bamford and other locals in a sexy and edgy safer-sex campaign running online as a component of The Center's HIV Working Group. The campaign runs under two banners: TOOLK!T for the younger crowd, FUK!T for 21 and older.
Another great MAL weekend!
We want to pre-order the same weather from this year for next year...right at the same time as we pre-reserve a room at the new host hotel and pre-purchase our weekend packages for next year's MAL.
It was 50 degrees on both Friday and Saturday! The perfect weather to gear up and get out to MAL 2010.
The Centaur's pulled off another amazing MAL this year, the last at the Washington Plaza Hotel. Next year it's off to the Capitol Hyatt. More on that in a minute.
Friday night kicked off the weekend with heavy and hot lobby cruising as well as back to back Gear parties at the Green Lantern. We heard of some other parties around town as well but you can only do so much!
Before heading to the Green Lantern we dropped in on the introduction of the judges for MAL 2010 as well as the drawing of numbers by the contestants. The judge selections included IML 2009 Jeffrey Payne, IMSL 2009 Lamalani, Mr Hoist Leather 2009 Steven Dwyer, Mr Gulf Coast Leather 2005 Roger Alford, Oklahoma Mr Leather 2004 Keith Hunt, boy ky and of course Head Judge Mr Mid Atlantic Leather 2009 Kip Hollar.
