Butchmanns Experience - Pansexual in Tuscon

On October 14-16, Desert Dominion in Tucson, AZ will host the Butchmanns Experience for a weekend Pansexual Event.

The Butchmanns Experience is an intensive educational weekend designed to provide an opportunity for self-discovery in pursuit of self-actualization. The event includes hands-on training in basic SM practices, protocol and rituals, and a view of leadership and obedience through the lens of Master/slave dynamics.

The emphasis of activities is on personal transformation and growth and includes intentional flogging, ritual temporary piercing, the call to serve and be served, and transformational mummification. These activities are further explored through in-depth discussions. The environment is structured to encourage safely entering new experiences, with the instructors and staff supporting each individual’s unique experience.

This event is Pansexual and open to all gender/sexual identities and expressions.

$250 for first-time participants ($225 early registration).  $200 for repeat participants ($175 early registration).

Meals during the event are included. Discounted hotel rates are available once registration is approved. The hotel provides transportation to and from the airport. Transportation between the hotel and the facility can be arranged.

Leatherati Editor Alex Lindsay (American Leatherman 2009) attended SouthEast LeatherFest over the weekend of June 10th and had a fantastic time.  The weekend is a full schedule with classes and contests and plenty of quality social time.

Northwest Leather Celebration Wrap Up

Northwest Leather Celebration was an amazing event weekend. Compliments to the organizers, presenters, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and of course-- the contestants!

Congratulations to Daniel Basse (BusDriver) and Pink for winning the title of Northwest Master and slave!

Classes and discussions were abundant, with over 40 different presenters. The subjects extended far beyond M/s and were categorized into three tracks: community building, relationship building, and SM technique. A full list is available here: http://www.northwestleathercelebration.com/workshops

Our Own Spaces

Loki Madmonk, co-founder of the Ourboros Leather Levi Club, submitted the following comments to add to the dialogue we've had recently about the closing of the SF Eagle and the challenge from Guy Baldwin in his LLC Keynote speech to take care of our own.  Good stuff...give it a read.

You guys, I have noticed a pattern here, and I hope you all have as well. The Spike is gone, Diamond Jim’s gone, Gateway Inn gone, The Outpost gone and countless Eagle Bars across the nation are gone or about to close their doors. It is time we take responsibility and take action or the only place we will have kink will be in our bedrooms by ourselves with a bottle of lotion with Righty (or lefty if you prefer). 

A lot of us complain about leather dying out and not having places to go and that the Pansexual and Heterosexual BDSM community has somehow ruined leather for us. First off nature, as well as kink, favors the diverse. Making friends and allies in the Hetero and Pansexual circles can reap major benefits, if the bitter queens can quit bitching long enough to realize them.

Guy Baldwin NLA Houston Keynote Speech

Houston NLA Keynote

Kinky cybersapce has been humming with news about and reactions to another keynote speech delivered by Guy Baldwin.  

This keynote was delivered on April 17, 2011 at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Houston chapter of the NLA (National Leather Association), themed “Uncommon Integrity is Our Common Pursuit.” The event also marked the 25th anniversary of NLA-International.

In this speech Guy expands on a theme that he introduced in his Leather Leadership Conference keynote speech, specifically coming out of the kink closet as a way to be a fully integrated kink personality.

South Plains Leatherfest Moves to New Weekend

South Plains Leatherfest-International Master/slave Weekend Announces A Home Improvement Plan! For over 10 years, South Plains Leatherfest-International Master/slave Weekend has provided a home for those looking for education on Master/slave relationships, cutting edge SM and a queer-friendly leather space where they can experience it all.  SPLF-IM/s Weekend 2012 will continue that tradition – but on a new weekend with a little “home improvement!”

First of all, why the date change after all of these years?  Well, they weren’t too happy with some of their “neighbors” at the hotel this year -- those pesky cheerleaders attending a national convention held in Dallas the same weekend as their leather homecoming.  Since the cheerleaders will be back the same weekend next year, they’re asking you to come home to South Plains two weeks later, March 9-11, 2012, when the “neighborhood” will be much quieter!

SCLG is an annual outdoor picnic gathering that is open to ALL leather, bdsm, fetish, kink, motorcycle and bear groups/individuals of all genders and orientations.
