Who knew you could have so much fun and (mostly) keep your clothes on?
People not in the know cruising the lobby of the Hotel Whitcomb in SF this past weekend will be forgiven if they thought the thuds, thumps and cries coming from the ballroom were just another Halloween party.
Trust me, this was not your high school Halloween soiree. This was the International LeatherSIR/Leatherboy and International Community Bootblack contest (thank goddess there's shorthand - ILSb/ICBB) and the Whitcomb Ballroom was definitely rocking.
The 4 day ode to BDSM launched on Thursday night with the kickoff parties at both Mr S Leathers and the Hotel. Leather folks turned out in their finest to meet and greet the Sirs, boys and Bootblacks from all of the LeatherSIR/boy/bootblack regions around the US and Canada.
These guys were hot...seriously hot. The panel of 10 judges definitely had their work cut out for them.
After some intros and appropriately short speeches the masses headed off the Chaps II to continue the fun and more than a few found some good reasons to get up to some major mischief.
Friday did dawn bright and early for both contestants and attendees with a full schedule of rehearsals and educational seminars. We had a hard time selecting from the concurrent offerings but finally settled on Rough Body Impact Play with Sir Top and Slave Bonnie - an excellent choice all around with some devious new ideas for roughing up the boy. Next up was Protocol with Master C - an insightful look at our old guard history and the efforts around the country to bring protocol back to the forefront.
Just enough time for a quick closing of the eyes, a snack, change of gear and then it was down to the ballroom for part 1 of the contest.
Queen Cougar was tapped to emcee this year's contest and she, as usual, showed what a class act she is. Trust me that nobody can say "8 inches, cut" and make it sound quite so elegant and nasty at the same time. Hot!
In part 1 of the contest we got to meet everybody in the finest and then got to strip them down to the seriously sexy jockstrap portion. The first night also featured the Sir and boy speeches and a merciless charity flogging on Executive Co-Producer Randal by the outgoing Int'l LeatherSIR Raul. Randal really took a bunch for the "children" in that scene and the total ended up just over $1000 for a flawlessly used and abused Dragon's Tongue flogger.
Immediately following the contest, which ended right on time thank you very much, we took a quick beverage break and then the stage was taken over with fetish demos. We missed the first couple - let's just say that certain toys were in use and time got away from us. But we were lucky enough to get back to the ballroom for Master John's offering to the musical gods. Namely a very hot sub with 84 piercings in the backs of his arms, all down his back and on to his buttocks.
Each piercing was connected to string which Master John then proceeded to "play" along with the harp accompaniment. At the end he plucked out each string one by one and painted the sub's back with his own blood. Seriously....freakin....hot. At the end we saw Mistress Nyna clapping her hands with a gleeful/maniacal look in her eyes and hustling her other half, American Leatherwoman 2008 Joan Norry, out the door, into the car, and home to the playroom. Wanna guess?
After the demos a bunch of us did a bar crawl, starting with Chaps II, the Powerhouse and ended up at the Eagle. We started out the crawl with Ray Tilton, Mr SF Leather Daddy XXII - Peter Dillon, Mr Leatherman Toronto 2009 - Alex Lindsay, American Leatherman 2009 and along the way we just plain got outta control with Rick Russell, Mr Bolt Leather 2009 - Randy Carmenaty, American Leatherman 2008, and Jeffrey Payne, International Mr Leather 2009. Luckily we all had enough sense to know when to head home. Saturday was another day!
Indeed it was. We probably started a little too early but there was tons to do on the calendar and well, you can rest when you dead. After a quick breakfast with Master John from Ft Lauderdale it was off to his class on electricity including violet wands, stim units and the grandaddy of all, the Eros Tek 312. Yum.... Turns out we had a celebrity demo "bottom" with Randy Carmenaty, American Leatherman 2008 taking his turn on the receiving end of everything Master John could charge up. At the end we had dueling bottoms with both Randy and demo sub Chris (he of the 84 piercings from Friday) giving the 312 a good run for the money.
It was really an unfair morning cause we had to miss Puppy Play with boy Tyler & the S-F K9 Unit, and we didn't get to go to Red Hanky or the Stomping seminar with International Community Bootblack Black Jack & slave-boy jake. We refused to miss the Saline Injection with Master John again leading the way. Demo sub Chris (apparently piggy is an apt description since he was in 3 demos) was joined by Mr San Francisco Leather 2009, Brandon Clark as John's victims for the Saline Injection. Since it was Halloween MasterJohn had a bit of fun at the end and painted their seriously distended scrotums with iodine and then used a Sharpie to draw Jack o Lantern faces. Fun and sexy!
In among everything else we also managed to take in the Sir Demos in the main ballroom. Each Sir and boy team had 10 minutes or so to show their stuff. We took a bunch of pics, unfortunately most of them are NSFW so you'll have to grab me next time for the private tour. We understand the demos we "un-judged" but I did see several of the judges making notes. Hmmm...
The powers that be decided to pick up with Part 2 of the contest promptly at 5 PM so we could all get out in plenty of time to indulge in that favorite gay holiday, Halloween.
Tonight we were treated to the Bootblack speeches and even though the group must have been exhausted after 2 full days of blacking, they shined up and showed off. It's interesting to note that ILSb-ICBB is the only major contest where the bootblacks are put through the same level of judging as the other contestants including an interview and speech.
The audience was revved up for the main attraction, the Sir/boy demos. Each region had a theme which the had to incorporate in to their fantasy. The fantasies were, without exception amazingly well executed. Everybody always stresses over the fantasies but if anybody was nervous it sure didn't show.
To be truly fair I should write about all of them but I'm gonna just highlight 3 of the crown faves. Sir Merrill and boy Ed presented a seriously funny and seriously sexy fantasy about what really happens in our minds during those boring HR seminars on workplace behavior. Sir Tony and boy Brad took blue collar to a whole new high (low?) with their interpretation of a car repair shop gone bad. The highlight of the scene was when Tony took a grinder to brad's ass and made sparks fly from the metal plate attached to his underwear. Fantastic! But honestly the one that really brought the audience to its feet was the awesome military theme fantasy from Sir Marco and boy Jim. Marco played a sexy and devious Drill Sergeant who sang Jim through his paces with a raunchy and soulful tune. It was a great way to finish off the night.
We didn't have to wait long for the results and in the end Sir Merrill, Mr Great Lakes LeatherSIR 2009 was chosen as first runner up for International LeatherSIR 2009. First runner up for International Leatherboy 2009 was Dominic Chevalier, Northwest Leatherboy 2009. First runner up for International Community Bootblack was Kyle Applegate, Northeast Community Bootblack 2009.
The judges selected Tony Palazzo, Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2009 as International LeatherSIR for 2009. Joining Sir Tony as International Leatherboy was Brad Hill, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2009 and International Community Bootblack Syr Evan, Gulf Coast Community Bootblack 2009
Congrats to the new ILSb-ICBB family and kudos to the producers from both the regionals as well as the international for an amazing event that is only going to get better.

I AM GLAD THAT YOU HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME. iT SEEMS THAT EVERYONE HAD WHAT THEY CALLED THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES. wE ARE VERY HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO BRING A WEEKEND OF ENJOYMENT TO THE bdsm RS. OF THE WORLD. As I said, San francisco is our home and you are our MISHPUKAH. We wil see you next year and we already have people who have registered for next year.
