Let's see at the end of day 1 we were investigating the play parties......
It seems everyone was out bright and early on Saturday, judging by the number of attendees at the first classes. We decided to attend our good friend (and world class presenter!) Master Skip's seminar titled Mastering Multiple Slaves - The Good, The Bad, and The Uppity. In the seminar, Skip details answers to an M/s questionnaire he shared with a number of well-know Masters in the community. There were a number of surprise answers and a lot of "exactly!" one that that everyone in a M/s dynamic has dealt with.
A short broke later and we ventured to Sir Crone's tantalizingly titled seminar, Single Tail Dancing for Tops and Bottoms.
Trust me, this one was not to be missed. Not only was the class loaded with technical tips but the amount of emotion the volunteer participants brought was nigh on a spiritual experience. We walked through primarily the "Eastern Throw" as Lady Crone called it, acknowledging that there are multiple other names for the throw depending on the region. Regardless of the name, the technique is to create a horizontal plane with with the whip, in this case a 4 foot signal, creating a side to side sweeping stroke. Very sexy and very mesmerizing. And useful! Since it's a very controlled motion with a fairly precise strike zone, you can vary the plane up or down to whip higher or lower on the body.
Yay! Lunch! We were very impressed with the quality of all of the food at the various events and the meal card was a pretty good bargain. So, anyway...lunch. Big juicy burgers, tons of salad and fruit with everything clearly labeled for Gluten Free, Vegetarian, etc.
After an afternoon seminar slot with titles like Magic Carpet Ride or Cigar Play: Mouth, Hands, Eyes, Spirit, it was time to get settled in for the two contests. Both the Master/slave and the Bootblack contestants had done their judge interviews earlier in the day. Now it was time for onstage questions and the speeches.
