The Mr SF Leather contest is bigger and better than ever!
Can this really be the 32nd year? Looking back through the past winners is like reading a roll call of our community's history: David Kloss, the first-ever Mr SF Leather and IML; Peter Austin; Ray Tilton, Lenny Broberg; Mitch Johnson, Mike Lias; and many other hot and sexy guys. There's a lot of history standing on that stage.
The event for this year expanded to include the SF Bay Area Leather Alliance banquet and awards presentation, which is a great move by the way. And to add some eye candy to the accolades, Producers Mark Welsh and Tony Esquivel included a new segment for the contestants; the Fantasies!
The ballroom at the Hotel Whitcomb was packed on Friday night for the awards and again on Saturday for the contest. It's a great location for an event this size with nice sight lines, good sized stage and a friendly staff!
On hand for emcee duties on both nights were the dashing duo of Donna Sachet and Lenny Broberg. On the contest night Donna was sporting a miniscule latex dress that had the judges averting their eyes and Lenny was gear-tastic in a yellow and black racing suit.
Three contestants were on hand to compete for the title and the honor to represent SF both at home and at IML in May 2010. Contestant #1 was Lance Holman, Mr Powerhouse Leather; Contestant #2 was Stefanos Tiziano, Mr Citadel Leather; and Contestant #3 Robbie Leonard, 1st Runner Up Mr Powerhouse.
The contest followed a traditional format with bar wear introductions and a funny question, followed by the audience favorite jockstrap segment which included a serious question and finally formal leather with a 90 second speech. All of the guys turned in stellar performances and this one was truly a tough one for the judges!
The judging panel included Brandon Clark, Mr SF Leather 2009; Jeffrey Payne, IML 2009; dirk burns, SF Leather Daddy's boy XXIV; Daddy Sal Hopkins; and IML 1994 Jeff Tucker.
The night moved smartly along with just a couple of much-needed bar breaks and just before 11 PM, and in plenty of time to make the open play party at the Citadel, the winners were announced. Lance Holman took the honors and the title of Mr San Franciso Leather 2010 with Stefanos Tiziano placing 1st runner up and Robbie Leonard took the 2nd runner up slot.
Great job guys! We'll look for more of Lance at IML.
