ILSb/ICBB 2011 - Friday Night & First Pics

We're here in SF for the International Leather SIR/boy and International Community Bootblack contest being held at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway.

Last night was Part 1 of the contest and our first chance to meet all of the contestants for each category.  And we got to see a LOT of the SIR and boy contestants during the jockstrap portion of the contest.

A not-so-PG13 Family Day Weekend for Toronto

 When the Family Day holiday was original conceived in the 1990s, the idea was that people took time off to spend it with their family. That seemed to apply for this year’s Family Day weekend (February 18-21, 2011) as leather families gathered in Toronto for the Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy (ECLSb) 2011 competition, the 21^st anniversary of the Northbound Leather Fetish Night, and the Spearhead Fantasy Ball. 

Our Leatherati North correspondent, J.J. Deogracias was on hand to cover all these events, to uncover some surprising news, and to discover how fun and painful his outfits can be.

One Bar, Three Parties

As the Family Day weekend kicked-off, different leather families gathered at the Black Eagle Toronto for the kick-off of the ECLSb 2011 competition with a Meat & Greet for the judges and the contestants. Some families in attendance included the title family of International LeatherSIR/leatherboy/Community Bootblack 2010 (Sir Hugh Russell, boy ian, and Red Warrior respectively) who is part of the judging panel for this contest, and the family of this year's ECLSb contestants – Master Chuck from Sudbury, Ontario for Eastern Canada LeatherSIR and His boy iain from Toronto, Ontario for Eastern Canada leatherboy.

On top of the Meat & Greet, the Black Eagle Toronto was packed with people attending for two other events – the Bears of Toronto group had their monthly Bears of the Forest event and the leather and denim social club, Spearhead Toronto had a kick-off party for the Spearhead Fantasy Ball (which happened the Sunday of that weekend).

Although the Eagle was crowded, there was still room for some "quality time" between family members, including rope bondage aficionado Sir Dart doing a scene with the pup of ECLSb 2011 tally master Anthoney Perkins (Mid-Atlantic Leatherboy 2010) and ECLSb 2011 den daddy Matthew Pavelich (Mr. Leatherman Toronto 2008), and Southeast LeatherSIR 2009 Sir Jason Pelky flogging His boy, Piggy Boo with two leather pride-themed-floggers that He made Himself.

ECLSb - interview

Won a really cool photo print at the MLT Leather Brunch.

Had a really good interview with the new ECLSb titleholders on my new camera. Hope it's not too shaky.

Stopped in at the Eagle for their Leather Swap, bought a few things. Not going to Squeal. I heard from Tom Stice that it was really packed and a long waitlist for a room. If I was to go, i'd need a room for all my stop. Plus i need a rest before the Spearhead Fantasy Ball tonight.

Master C and boy iain will be my first test subjects of the video in my new camera. Hopefully it comes out. Off to their hotel room for the interview.

ECLSb - Announced changes to MLT

I love how Victoria Windsor phrased about the change in titleholders:

"We went through some recasting, and the role of Mr. Leatherman Toronto will now be played by Ryan Lemesurier."

And aside from that change, there are other major changes up ahead for Mr. Leatherman Toronto. Or should I say Mr. Toronto Leather Pride?

ECLSb 2011 contest highlights

To make up for the technical/testicle difficulty with my contest posts earlier, here are the highlights from the ECLSb 2011 contest:

• Because Master C and boy iain were competing for the LeatherSIR and Leatherboy titles respectively, they each have to achieve a score of 70% or above to attain the title. Just like the previous year.

 

• This year's Community Builder Awards went to:

1. John Brodhagen, manager of Steamworks
2. Carlos Fileti, owner of the Black Eagle Toronto
3. Mr. International Rubber 2009 Fenn, the stage manager for the ECLSb 2011 contest

 

• Tom introduced a number of titleholders, including a new Mr. Leatherman Toronto 2011, Ryan Lemesurier who assumed the sash recently after the stepdown of Paul Hackett. More news regarding that at the MLT Leather Brunch tomorrow.
